It’s that time of year again! Time to get your 2024 vehicle orders in now to aid in prompt delivery for next year. However, with the ongoing parts shortages, specific models are becoming unavailable. Not only that, prices for available vehicles continue to increase.

For fleets, this could present a big headache—or an opportunity. The solution is to pivot to other vehicle models that work just as well, or better, than your current ones.

Let’s talk about which vehicles aren’t available right now, and which are. This blog will help you avoid getting caught off guard so you can keep operating smoothly.

Pickups and vans

Which vehicles aren’t available for 2024 ordering?

The current shortages will affect fleets that operate pickup trucks, vans, and  SUVs. Compact pickup trucks will, in particular, are going to be difficult to get your hands on (Ford Maverick, Ford Ranger, Chevy Colorado, and GMC Canyons). Compact vans are not available in Canada at the moment.

At Foss, we recommend either midsize pickups with a cap or compact SUVs, depending on your end use.

Prioritizing fit for purpose

Even with the shortages, there are still well-suited vehicles available for fleets. It’s just a matter of re-evaluating your options.

The key factor? Keep fit for purpose at the forefront. Any vehicle you choose should be able to easily get the job done, and allow for any upfitting you need.

By thinking about each vehicle’s end use, you may discover that a different vehicle will do the job just as well as your current one.

How Foss can help

At Foss, we help you keep operating strong, no matter what’s happening in the vehicle market. Whether you lease or purchase, we’ll be there every step of the way.
